Back to Bangkok

I hope my perfect vacation didn't disgust everyone. I really try to be real and I just lucked out this week, because our real has been really awesome.

Yesterday we had to cut our trip short, but not before breakfast on the beach and a dip in the pool. Given the awesomeness of the trip, I shouldn't have been surprised that M chose that moment to learn to swim. We've tried to teach him and show him a million times, but he was always resistant. So it fit perfectly with our unplanned theme. Sure, learn to swim! Why not!

And just to show that everything always seems to balance out, I did something to my back to put myself in a lot of pain for the whole 8 hour drive back, and L had a seizure on the ferry.

Oh well. Back to reality. :) At least we saw an elephant on the way home.

  1. Okay first of all, why would anyone be disgusted with your vacation?! That's just effing rude.

I'm living vicariously through you and want your trip to be perfect, damnit! :)

That's AWESOME Miles learned to swim!! And so cool you saw an elephant. Sorry your trip had to be cut short, but glad that most of it was awesome.

How'd you put your back out (wink wink) :) Okay, sorry I'm 12....

    1. Thanks- well sometimes it's annoying when people write about their perfect life, you know? Anyway, the elephant was awesome because the boys were calling to me, but come on, they call me all day long, how was I supposed to know it was important? :) miles yelled- just take a picture right now!!! And I looked up and it was right in front of us. Just enough time to snap it before it crossed out of sign. Elephants are my favorite.
My back started hurting in the pool, you funny girl.

    2. Haha well good thing Miles got you to pay attention! :)

Whatever, it's not annoying at all! If you were to say something like "we're on vacation and way better than all of you" then I could see people getting mad, but otherwise....it's fun to see cool vacation pictures.

Okay, okay, I had to ask about your back, sorry :)

    1. Wasn't that a good one? Whim took it, I stole his phone and texted it to myself so I could use it.

  3. I found your blog from link on Housetalkn. Surprisingly, our family JUST came home yesterday from a two week vacation to Thailand. It was a wonderful trip and I was so glad that my children had the chance to experience many different areas of Thailand.

I noticed you visited Khao Keow zoo. You might find interesting that the Grand Prize winner from the National Geographic photo contest is Busaba the tigress who resides there!

While we were in Bangkok, my husband found a news article that listed the top ten most Instagram'd locations in the world. One would think the winner would be a well known place like the Eiffel Tower. But the top two locations were in Bangkok. First was Suvarmabhumi Airport (which my son promptly Instagram'd to his friends when we landed at midnight). And the second was Siam Paragon Mall (which we visited not once, but twice for its awesome food court). Just to give you a reference point, the number 3 spot was Disneyland! I found that a fun factoid.

  4. Wow, Jeanne, I hope your trip was nice.

I'm not that surprised that Thailand had the top two instagrammed places on earth- Thai people love their smartphones! :) Everyone says that you can't eat until you've taken a picture of your food. :)
